UCLA Business Forecast Sees Continuing Job Gains: University economists predict the state’s economy will outpace the nation’s through 2010. The forecast came in the latest quarterly report from UCLA’s Business Forecasting Project, released Wednesday. The report slightly scaled back its short-term job outlook, citing slower-than-anticipated growth in retail and wholesale trade. In June, the economists had predicted short-term annual growth of 3% through 1998. The latest report foresees 3% growth through next year, but 2% after that.
