Kevorkian Aids in Suicide, Lawyer Says

BOSTON — Dr. Jack Kevorkian attended another suicide Sunday, that of a 71-year-old psychiatrist who was suffering from colon cancer, Kevorkian’s attorney, Geoffrey Fieger, said.
Fieger told a university lecture audience in Boston that Dr. Richard Faw of Wilson, N.C., was pronounced dead at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., about 7 p.m. Sunday. Fieger described Faw as a general practitioner and psychiatrist whose colon cancer had spread to other organs.
Kevorkian, a retired pathologist, has publicly acknowledged attending 41 deaths, including Sunday’s, since beginning his assisted-suicide crusade in 1990.
Fieger made the announcement as he began an address on the morality of physician-assisted suicide before a gathering at Northeastern University.
