Community Conscience Under One Roof has named longtime Conejo Valley resident Sandra J. DeVries its new director of development.
DeVries, who has lived in Thousand Oaks for nearly 30 years, succeeds Ginny Mumm, who recently moved to Boston. DeVries worked 15 years at CGG, a French-owned firm assisting in international oil exploration.
Community Conscience was formed in 1981 as a nonprofit organization to provide assistance to local social service agencies left struggling after federal funding cuts.
In the mid-1980s, the organization raised enough funds to build its 15,000-square-foot Under One Roof Human Services Center on 80 E. Hillcrest Drive, in Thousand Oaks.
The center now houses four government agencies and 19 charities, including the Alzheimer’s Assn.; Child Abuse and Neglect; Hospice of the Conejo; Many Mansions; and Interface Children Family Services.
