The Monarchs were tested in wins over Irvine (35-30) and Capistrano Valley (20-15). Redlands will be another test. Redlands is a proponent of the option and veer attacks, passing only when the opponent is committed totally to stopping the run. On defense, the Terriers are junkyard dogs, giving up only 87 points this season and only one touchdown in the last 22 quarters. Mater Dei brings the kind of passing attack Redlands rarely sees in the Citrus Belt League. “I think both teams will score,” Monarchs Coach Bruce Rollinson said. “You don’t want it to turn into a ‘who has ball last’ kind of game.”
