NORTH HOLLYWOOD — A two-car collision on Christmas Day left four people injured, one critically, Los Angeles police said.
The 2:20 p.m. accident occurred at the intersection of Bellaire Avenue and Vanowen Street when a car and pickup truck collided, Officer Alex Medel said. The cause of the accident was under investigation.
A 73-year-old woman who was riding in the passenger seat of the car, which was traveling north on Bellaire, was listed in critical condition at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Medel said. The 43-year-old woman driver of the car suffered minor injuries in the crash and was expected to recover.
The 32-year-old man driving the pickup truck, which was traveling west on Vanowen, was also listed in good condition, Medel said.
A fourth woman suffered minor injuries when the car slammed into a nearby apartment building, startling a woman in the building into walking into a door, a city fire official said.
