HUNTINGTON BEACH — A San Clemente man was struck and killed by a pickup Friday night as he pushed his stalled car through a rain-soaked intersection, police said.
Albert L. Pizzorno, 63, died at the scene following the 9:20 p.m. accident at Bolsa Chica Street and Edinger Avenue, Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Mike Mello said.
Pizzorno died of massive leg and internal injuries after being struck from behind while trying to push his car from the intersection, Mello said.
It was raining at the time of the accident, but police said they have not yet determined if the wet weather was the primary cause of the collision. No arrests have been made.
