Penguins Slash Past Islanders

Jaromir Jagr scored twice, Mario Lemieux had four assists before he was ejected and the Penguins stretched their unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders a Pittsburgh.
Lemieux was ejected at 5:31 of the third period after he and Islander defenseman Richard Pilon were involved in a slashing incident at center ice. Pilon was given a match penalty for trying to injure Lemieux, who picked up a slashing major with the game misconduct.
Pilon took a couple of swings at Lemieux’s body with his stick, but Lemieux was not injured.
Phoenix 4, Dallas 3--Keith Tkachuk scored late in the second period and had two assists as the Coyotes ended a three-game losing streak at Dallas.
Jeremy Roenick added what proved to be the decisive goal in the third period.
Chicago 3, New Jersey 3--Tony Amonte scored with 19.7 seconds remaining in the third period to lift Chicago into a tie at New Jersey.
With Chicago goalie Jeff Hackett on the bench for an extra attacker, Amonte split the defense and beat Martin Brodeur to the stick side for his 27th goal.
Vancouver 5, Hartford 3--Pavel Bure had a goal and two assists and Kirk McLean made 20 saves as the Canucks handed the Whalers their eighth consecutive road loss.
