Palmer Scores 40 Points in University Win

Junior point guard Eric Palmer had a career-high 40 points, including six three-pointers, as visiting University beat Santa Fe Springs St. Paul, 81-64, Friday in a nonleague boys’ basketball game.

Palmer had 11 points in the first quarter, eight in the second, nine in the third and 12 in the fourth. He was made 14 of 17 free throws.

Palmer started the week as the second-leading scorer (22.8 points a game) and in the top spot in assists (10.7) in Orange County.

University is 9-6.

In other nonleague games:

Perris 72, Laguna Beach 56--Chris Sirianni had 20 points, eight assists and eight rebounds for Laguna Beach.

Anthony Lloyd had a game-high 28 points for Perris.

Brea Olinda 55, Cerritos Gahr 50--Chris McMillian had 18 points and six assists and Sean Wake had 14 points for Brea Olinda (13-3).

Joe Small had 24 points for Gahr.

Heritage Christian 70, Walnut Christian Chapel 53--Todd Warner had 22 points, including four three-pointers, and Brian Hancock finished with 16 points and nine assists for Heritage Christian.

Paul Sunan scored 20 points for Christian Chapel.
