Residents Association to Keep Same Officers

There probably won’t be a changing of the guard this week when the Studio City Residents Assn. elects new officers.

A nomination committee already has unanimously approved a slate of six officers that is identical to the current lineup. The general membership will vote at Tuesday’s) monthly association meeting.

The committee recommended that Tony Lucente return for his fifth year as president, but he has indicated that he may step down in 1998. Officers serve one-year terms, from January to December.

“We try to get some fresh perspectives in there,” Lucente said.

Also on the agenda Tuesday are discussions of crime issues, Los Angeles charter reform and Universal Studios’ proposed expansion. Association members have expressed concerns that Universal’s growth would bring a sharp increase in the number of bars and restaurants serving alcohol.

The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at the Carpenter Avenue Elementary School auditorium, 3909 Carpenter Ave.
