Coming Attractions

Here’s a look at key games this week for Long Beach State:

* Men’s basketball, against UC Santa Barbara, 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pyramid. The fifth-place 49ers are fighting to stay in the Western Division race of the Big West Conference--and ahead of cellar-dweller UC Irvine. Santa Barbara leads the close all-time series, 40-38.

* Women’s basketball, Saturday at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 7:30 p.m. The team has rebounded from a slow nonconference start and is playing well in the Big West. San Luis Obispo, however, is fast becoming among the conference’s toughest places for visitors.
