LAKERS TONIGHT

Opponent--Dallas Mavericks.

Site--Reunion Arena, Dallas.

Time--5:30.

TV--Channel 9.

Radio--KLAC (570).

Records--Lakers 31-12, Mavericks 14-26.

Record vs. Mavericks--1-0.

Laker update--Derek Fisher may have dropped to No. 3 on the depth chart at point guard, but he hasn’t dropped out of sight. Close, though. He didn’t get off the bench the first two games after Kobe Bryant began playing there and managed only garbage time Friday against Golden State. But Fisher played seven minutes Sunday at Seattle, mostly early in the second quarter when the Lakers had a double-digit lead. But he also was in for the final 1:15 of the third quarter, after the SuperSonics had turned a rout into a close game.

Maverick update--Dallas has lost six in a row to the Lakers by an average of 15 points. Harley Frankel, who spent two years with the Clippers as executive vice president and has also been in the front office with the Portland Trail Blazers, last week interviewed to become the Mavericks’ general manager.
