Duck update--They are tied for eighth in the Western Conference with Chicago, though the Ducks have played four fewer games. The Ducks are coming off a 4-1 victory over St. Louis despite missing wingers Warren Rychel and Joe Sacco because of minor injuries. Teemu Selanne has a 12-game point streak, the longest current streak. Goaltender Guy Hebert is 14-8-3 in his last 25 starts.
Star update--After a 7-2 victory over the Kings on Monday, the Stars are 3-0-1 since the All-Star break. They have scored 20 goals during the four games. Dallas has the second-best record in the Western Conference. Mike Modano leads the Stars with 21 goals, the seventh 20-goal season of his career. Defenseman Sergei Zubov is expected to return to the lineup after sitting out three games because of back spasms.
