Four hours after two men kidnapped a Lynwood woman from her garage, she was found shot to death near her burned car just outside the City of Industry early Saturday, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
Detectives and coroner’s investigators identified the woman as Teresa Soto Magana, 48. Witnesses told detectives that two men had accosted Magana in her garage in the 3600 block of Norton Avenue and shoved her into her 1987 Buick Somerset about 3:30 a.m., said Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Parker.
People arriving for work near the 2200 block of Pearson Avenue in Bassett, an unincorporated neighborhood near City of Industry, spotted the smoldering car in a dry riverbed and called deputies, who found Magana’s body, Parker said.
