AIR APPARENT

Regarding “Air Hollywood” (by Scott Collins, Jan. 12): I live about three miles east of the Santa Monica Airport. The landing pattern for most of the jets that you mentioned takes them right over my house, sometimes as low as 400 feet.
Knowing that takeoffs and landings are the most dangerous part of flying, I am constantly worried about the possibility of a plane crashing into our house. Also, the environmental and noise pollution negatively affect our safety, the quality of our lives and our property values.
