Qureshey Joins Board of Object Automation

SANTA ANA — Safi U. Qureshey, a co-founder and longtime executive of AST Research Inc., has agreed to join the board of directors of ObjectAutomation, a newly formed industrial automation software company.

Qureshey stepped down as chief executive of AST, the Irvine-based computer manufacturer, in 1995. He remains chairman emeritus with the company, although he has no active executive role.

The appointment was announced by ObjectAutomation co-founders Dave Smith, a former executive with Wonderware Corp. in Irvine, and Jon Wimer. ObjectAutomation is based in Santa Ana.
