Mater Dei Game Moved

Tonight’s first-round state Division I boys’ basketball playoff game between Mater Dei and Fontana Miller has been moved to Ocean View High, Monarch Coach Gary McKnight said Monday.
When pairings were announced Sunday, Mater Dei thought it had secured the Bren Center, but McKnight said UC Irvine personnel told him Monday they needed more time to prepare the Bren Center for a concert scheduled for Thursday.
Game time at Ocean View is 7:30 p.m.

Two Huntington Beach High coaches will not return to the school next year, Athletic Director Dave Van Hoorebeke said.
Eric Anderson, cross-country coach, will coach at Saddleback College and girls’ tennis coach Sergio Boerica will devote more time to his coaching position at Chapman.

Michael Halasz announced his resignation as athletic director at Fairmont High to devote more time to his administrative duties at the school. The school is interviewing applicants.
