Deaths From AIDS

Re “Braking a Relentless Killer,” editorial, March 4:

While I agree that the recent decline in AIDS deaths is encouraging, you obviously forgot to read the fine print. For women, the death rate has increased about 3%, and the rate has increased also for heterosexual partners of the bisexual and IV-drug-using patients, who are largely women. While I don’t want to be a party pooper in this latest hoopla, I would like to ask, why is it in health issues, the woman is always overlooked?
