Kindergarten Sign-Up Will Start Next Week

Registration for kindergarten in the Garden Grove Unified School District begins next Wednesday for children who will turn 5 before Dec. 2.

To register their children, parents must provide proof of a child’s age by showing either a birth certificate, registrar’s statement or a county record certifying the date of birth, a baptism certificate, passport or immigration visa.

Under California law, students cannot be legally enrolled in school before being immunized against certain diseases: polio, red measles, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, German measles and mumps. Written documentation of the immunizations is required.

Registration will continue through June 17, the final day of classes for the current school year. Enrollment will resume when schools reopen in the fall.
