Crenshaw Beats Narbonne for Division I Title

Crenshaw High made history Saturday night in its 50-30 victory over Harbor City Narbonne in the Southern Regional Division I final at the Pond of Anaheim.
The Cougars, who improved to 27-3, became the first City Section girls’ team to advance to a state championship game. They will play the Northern Regional winner Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Pond.
The victory was Crenshaw’s third this season over conference rival Narbonne (24-6). The Cougars defeated the Gauchos in the City Section Division 4-A final last Friday.
Crenshaw took charge early, going ahead, 13-2, after the first quarter and increasing its lead to 26-8 at halftime.
Forward Naila Moseley, who signed with Stanford, led Crenshaw with 17 points and eight rebounds. Senior guard Danielle Rainey had 14 points.
Kawai Matthews had 18 points and eight rebounds for Narbonne.
