Santa Monica Crossroads 57, Santa Ana Calvary Chapel 45--Point guard Baron Davis’ 30 points and 11 rebounds helped Crossroads break open a close game and defeat Calvary Chapel in the Division IV final at the Pond. The Roadrunners (29-3), who advanced to their first state final since 1987, defeated the Eagles (26-6) a week ago to win the Southern Section Division IV-A championship.
Davis, one of the nation’s top unsigned recruits, made 15 of 20 free throws. Le Quan Tolbert had 14 points for the Roadrunners.
Calvary Chapel senior point guard Kevin Falconer made three three-pointers in the first quarter and finished with 11 of his 17 points in the quarter.
Joe Ortiz, who fouled out in the fourth quarter, scored seven of his 12 points in the second quarter.
