Kor Pitches Rio Mesa to Westside Red Title

Jake Kor pitched a three-hitter, striking out seven and walking two, to lead Rio Mesa High to a 9-0 victory over San Pedro on Saturday the Red Division championship of the Westside baseball tournament at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
Richard Martinez hit a two-run single to highlight a six-run sixth inning for Rio Mesa (5-0).
In other Westside tournament games:
Hueneme 8, Beverly Hills 3--Robert Avila had a three-run double in the sixth inning and Victor Navarro had a two-run single in the third for the Vikings (3-2) at Beverly Hills.
Alemany 10, Canyon 8--Bill Scott was three for three with four runs batted in, including his fourth home run of the season at Alemany. Jason Westmeir added two doubles for the Indians.
Moorpark 8, Ventura 4--Rich Cartier had a triple, a double, and four RBIs for Moorpark (2-3) at Ventura.
Chatsworth 11, Hawthorne 7--Greg Wold hit two triples and drove in two runs for the Chancellors (2-3) at Chatsworth.
In the San Fernando tournament:
Westlake 12, Poly 7--David Williamson hit a three-run home run in the third inning for the Warriors (3-2) at Poly (0-5).
El Camino Real 12, Thousand Oaks 2--Woody Cliffords was three for three, including a solo home run, for the Conquistadors (3-2) at El Camino Real. After trailing the Lancers (1-3) in the third, 2-0, El Camino Real responded with 12 runs.
Kennedy 12, Highland 2--Alex Lopez allowed five hits and struck out six in six innings for the Golden Cougars (3-2) at Kennedy.
Birmingham 17, Canoga Park 3--Facundo Barrera hit three doubles, drove in five runs and scored four for the host Braves (3-2).
Calabasas 4, North Hollywood 1--Brian Fatur and Josh Goldfield each had two hits and the Coyotes (5-1) handed the Huskies (4-1) their first loss at Calabasas. Fatur also had two stolen bases, including one of home.
Matt Sagoian (3-0) gave up four hits and three walks and did not allow an earned run in six innings.
Glendale 6, San Fernando 5--Jon Walton (3-0) gave up two runs in four innings and also had two hits and drove in two runs for Glendale (5-0) at San Fernando.
Ryan Noll drove in Albert Velasquez with the winning run with one out in the seventh. Rich Argota had two hits and drove in two runs for Glendale.
Grant 6, Malibu 5--Augustine Quevedo stole home for the winning run on a double steal to cap a two-run, seventh-inning rally by the Lancers at Grant.
Granada Hills 5, Santa Paula 4--Mike Miller had two hits and two RBIs for Granada Hills (3-2) at Granada Hills. David Kirkpatrick added three hits and three stolen bases for the Highlanders.
In the L.A. Baptist tournament:
L.A. Baptist 13, Western Christian 2--Jon Wada and Josh Hilliger each had two hits for the Knights (3-2) at L.A. Baptist.
Valencia 10, Campbell Hall 3--John Kelley threw a four-hitter, including nine strikeouts, for the Vikings (3-1) at Valencia. Brady Burrill hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning.
