Rancho Santiago Breezes Past Fullerton in Baseball

Rancho Santiago scored three runs in the fourth inning and three in the fifth, defeating Fullerton, 13-5, in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Saturday at Fullerton. The Dons improved to 22-1-1, 9-0 in conference.
Josh Reding and Eddie Mejia each hit solo home runs for Rancho Santiago. Erik Sobek, Rick Gonzalez and Kevin Duck had doubles for the Dons.
Bo Bryant hit a two-run home run in the first inning for Fullerton (14-10, 2-7). Nick Garcia had a triple for the Hornets.
Fullerton plays at Rancho Santiago in a rematch at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
In other Orange Empire Conference games:
Riverside 20, Orange Coast 2--Jeff Bajenaru had four hits, five runs batted in and two runs scored as Riverside defeated Orange Coast (10-14, 3-6). Elliot Sarabia had three hits, three RBIs and five runs scored for the Tigers (19-3, 4-3).
Pitcher Cody Trask (5-0) gave up only two earned runs and seven hits over eight innings.
Saddleback 10, Golden West 2--Craig Harrison went three for four with two RBIs and Nick Punto went three for four with one RBI for Saddleback, which improved to 19-2 on the season.
At the Flintridge Tennis Classic:
Brown and Dannenhold advance--Golden West’s Alex Brown and Mike Dannenhold defeated Ali Roshan and Emmo Suson of L.A. Pierce, 6-3, 6-4, in the quarterfinals. Brown and Dannenhold play Marymount’s Adam Eke and Brentan Le Grand at 10:30 a.m. today in the semifinals at the La Canada Flintridge Tennis Center.
In nonconference volleyball:
Orange Coast 3, Long Beach 2--Fernando Sabla had 23 kills as Orange Coast (10-1) edged Long Beach (10-1), 10-15, 15-10, 15-11, 12-15, 15-6. Jason Klems and Josh Richardson each had 21 kills for the Pirates (10-1).
