The madcap adventures of the Pink Panther come to the Cartoon Network (weekdays at 11 a.m.). The half-hours also will include the popular shorts “Ant and the Aardvark” and “The Inspector.” In one of the first shows, “Pink Elephant,” a pachyderm follows the kindhearted panther home. After the zoo closes, Pink really has got a problem: finding a place to hide his new friend. For ages 2 to 7.

Teenagers struggle to grow up at a racially and financially diverse co-ed boarding school as teachers try to give them wisdom and provide friendship in Social Studies, a sitcom premiering this week (UPN, Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.). Julia Duffy is Frances Harmon, the rigid administrator, and Bonnie McFarlane is Katherine (Kit) Weaver, the working-class teacher who is the sometimes surrogate parent. For ages 12 to 15.
