JonBenet Ramsey’s parents can have a representative present during DNA testing of evidence in their daughter’s death, police said. John and Patsy Ramsey were barred from earlier DNA testing by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation because police said they had not been named as defendants. But Boulder, Colo., officials said the parents can have access to independent testing begun earlier this month. Results are expected by mid-April. “The prosecution believes the family may have legal standing to be present,” city spokesman Kelvin McNeill said at a news conference. McNeill refused to elaborate on whether “legal standing” referred to the possibility that one or both Ramseys could be charged in the slaying.
