Outlaw Moving Up as a Shot Blocker

Charles Outlaw, perhaps the most modest Clipper, wasn’t fazed after recording his 386th blocked shot Wednesday, moving past Bill Walton and into fifth place among franchise shot blockers.
“I didn’t know that,” Outlaw said. “I don’t pay too much attention to the stats. . . . When you do something like that, of course you’re happy. He’s a Hall of Famer.”

Coach Bill Fitch is concerned about center Lorenzen Wright, who has missed 15 of 20 shots in his last three games.
“I just came out of an hour session with him and I could have used an hour more,” Fitch said. “The quality of his play is still where it was up to now, but what young players have to realize is that now you’ve got to go up another level.”

Although the Clippers have a two-game lead over the Sacramento Kings for the seventh spot in the Western Conference playoffs, they aren’t ready to start celebrating.
“We’ve still got a long ways to go and a lot of tough games to play,” forward Rodney Rogers said. “We can’t look over anyone, especially at this time of the year.”
