Vice President Al Gore is on his way to China while the Chinese navy is coming to visit San Diego. The U.S. Navy ships visited Shanghai a few years ago. Things are getting friendlier and this is good news for the Pacific Rim countries. Patrick Buchanan (Washington Insight, March 19) and the hawks don’t like it. Confrontation, conflict and Cold War is the way of life for them.
Too bad for them this is the 1990s. Nowadays, communication and dialogue is the new way of life.
