Cancer Patients Seek Answers from HMOs
Cancer patients protesting changes in a local medical group have invited representatives of several health maintenance organizations to meet with them tonight.
The patients, angry that the Family Health Care Medical Group has replaced their cancer specialists, want the HMOs that use Health Care’s services to explain why the change was made.
They also want to know if they can stay with their trusted doctors--veteran cancer specialists Hany R. Khalil and John Thachil--without having to change health plans.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Elks Club, 1561 Kuehner Drive.
