Police Chief Daryl Wicker has suffered another heart attack and is hospitalized in stable condition, city officials said.
Wicker, 51, suffered his first heart attack in August 1994. City Manager Mark Ochenduszko said this week that Wicker had a second heart attack Friday while doing yard work at his home.
“The chief is in the hospital, in intensive care, but he’s in stable condition,” Ochenduszko said.
Ochenduszko said that people who want to send get-well notes or cards may address them to Chief Daryl Wicker, Cypress Police Department, 5275 Orange Ave., Cypress CA 90630. Ochenduszko said all letters will be delivered to the chief.
Council members on Monday night sent their best wishes to Wicker, who typically attends council sessions. He has been with the Cypress Police Department for 29 years and has been chief since 1989.
