Re “CIA Manual Spells Out Interrogation Techniques,” May 1: In Central America a lot of those victims didn’t make it through “coercion” very well; what they got was a horrifying shortcut to Boot Hill. The CIA is self-righteously implying there is some sort of underlying code of ethical conduct that’s prim and proper when extracting information.
The CIA has coldly reduced the human element to a piece of meat, and tried to further rationalize it being ground into hamburger. And this is declassified. Can you imagine what must still be top secret?
