‘Slammin Sam’ Gives Some Tips

Among the team’s new faces this season is former NBA player Sam Williams.
Williams was nicknamed “Slammin Sam” while playing at Arizona State from 1979-81. His primary duty is to work with the frontcourt players.
The Trojans are inexperienced up front with freshmen Greg Lakey, Shannon Swillis and Jeff Trepagnier expected to contribute.
“I have to suit up and practice with these guys,” joked Williams, who played with the Golden State Warriors (1981-83) and Philadelphia 76ers (1983-85) before playing nine years overseas. “I’ve got to show some of these guys how to dunk.”
