Animals and Man

* Re “A Consuming Interest in Horse Meat,” Nov. 30.
It is not important what we kill for food or the inhumane or unsanitary methods we use to kill our food. The point is that we kill. Ask anyone on the street today what their greatest fear is and they will tell you it is their fear of violence.
Our society, except for too few of us, does not get the connection between human and nonhuman animals.
We live in a commodity-driven world. We never stop to think that the criminals on the street feel the same way about us as we feel about animals that we eat, wear and hunt for sport. Getting what you want is what is most important.
