Camarillo Premium Outlets has begun construction on 18 new stores totaling 85,000 square feet of retail space. When completed, the new phase of construction will increase the shopping center to more than 100 stores covering more than 425,000 square feet.
The new stores will include Liz Claiborne, Calvin Klein, London Fog, Baby Guess and Naturalizer. It will be connected by an archway to the outlet center’s Main Court.
Terri Cameron, general manager of the center, said she expects the new upscale discount shops to be a greater draw to shoppers from Los Angeles and Ventura counties as well as tourists.
Officials with the Ventura Boulevard center, which opened in 1995, estimate that more than 5 million people visit the center annually.
Camarillo Premium Outlets is owned and operated by Chelsea GCA Realty Inc., a New Jersey-based developer of outlet centers. The company owns 19 sites in 11 states.
