* Re “Government and Virtue,” July 4: Howard F. Ahmanson, citing no source, says liberals “think that working at a minimum-wage job is degrading, but welfare is not,” and that “most conservatives believe the opposite.” Certainly he knows his own mind, but he has no information on the minds of others, either conservative or liberal. I am a liberal who has enjoyed uncounted conversations with people of every political view, but never have I heard anyone seriously try to quote the minds of large groups of people they can’t even know.
On what authority does Ahmanson issue such an insult to millions of people with his illogical nonsense? His article speaks his voice alone.
