Biosource International Reports 3rd-Quarter Gains

Biosource International Inc., the Camarillo-based manufacturer of immunological reagents and test kits used in biomedical research, reported a net income of $855,400 for its third quarter, up 6% from $806,400 a year earlier.
Sales for the three months that ended Sept. 30 were $5.2 million, up 4% from $5 million in 1996.
For the nine months, earnings rose to $2.5 million, up 32% from $1.9 million a year ago, while revenue rose to $15.7 million, up 45% from $10.8 million.
“We are pleased to report continued solid revenue and earnings, even during the typical slow summer quarter, when business activity is reduced in both our domestic and European operations,” said James H. Chamberlain, chairman and CEO of Biosource.
