The City Council, acting as the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, has approved the development of 17 townhouses and 44 single-family homes on various parcels.
Anaheim-based Kaufman and Broad of Southern California Inc. will build the houses, with construction expected to begin in November and advance sales to start in December, officials said.
The development company has built two other residential projects totaling 272 homes in the downtown area, city officials said.
Prices will range from about $135,000 to $167,000. A program offering assistance with down payments will be available.
