Buena 8, Ventura 7--Buena’s Shane Beck intercepted a Mike Anderson pass at the Buena 32 with 2:30 to play to preserve the Bulldogs’ victory at Ventura.

Ismael Martin gave Ventura (2-5, 1-3) a 7-0 lead with a one-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter.

Buena (5-2, 3-1) scored on a 25-yard field goal by Kevin Howard late in the first quarter. The Bulldogs pulled to within 7-5 when a snap from center sailed over the head of punter Jason Fenstermacher and out of the end zone late in the half.

Howard’s 27-yard field goal with two minutes to play in the first half closed out scoring.
