Braden/CHOC Tennis Festival Starts Today

The Vic Braden/Children’s Hospital of Orange County Padrinos Tennis Festival, celebrating its 16th year, kicks off today with a match between alumni of USC and UC Irvine.
The festivities continue Saturday at 6 p.m. with a silent auction, and the invitational matches start next Friday.
More than 1,000 players from Southern California are expected to compete for $8,900 in prizes during the amateur charity tennis tournament at the Racquet Club of Irvine. Entry and sponsorship fees collected from the event will be donated to CHOC.
Invitational Open Level Play and a spectator party begin at 6 p.m. next Friday,, while semifinal and final matches in all divisions will take place Oct. 4 and 5. Information: (714) 532-8690.
