Re “A Real-Life Civics Lesson,” Aug. 6: As a graduate of Marlborough School’s class of 1998 I am familiar with the school’s plans for expansion. If Marlborough School should lose the chance to expand and to remain “one of the most prestigious private girls schools in Los Angeles,” then Hancock Park will lose one of its greatest sources of pride.
In 1916 Mary Caswell had the vision to move the campus to Third Street and Rossmore Avenue, a location which has fostered its growth. Now, Barbara Wagner has the vision to keep the growth of Marlborough alive through her plans for expansion. She truly is leading a campaign for excellence.
