17-Year-Old Slain in Drive-By Shooting

A 17-year-old was killed and another seriously wounded in an apparent gang-related drive-by shooting, authorities said Friday.
Jaime Sanchez, 17, of Cudahy, died at the scene of Thursday evening’s attack, said Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Deputy Cruz Solis.
About 10 p.m., Sanchez and Jiovanni Bercelo were standing on the porch of a friend’s house on East 53rd Street when a dark-colored sedan drove past and sprayed them with bullets, Solis said. Both were hit numerous times.
Bercelo, 17, of Maywood, was taken to a hospital and was in serious condition Friday evening, Solis said.
