2 Get Long Sentences in Killing of Husband

A man and woman convicted of killing her husband and driving for days with the body in the trunk before disposing of it were sentenced Friday.
Kenneth Boone, 35, received 177 years to life in prison, and Janet Marie Carter, 45, was sentenced to 26 years to life by Orange County Superior Court Judge David Carter for the killing of Lynn William Carter, 54. The judge and murder victim are not related.
Lynn Carter was shot in the head and his body was discovered July 26, 1997, in a trash bin in Garden Grove. Boone, Janet Carter and another woman drove from the Carters’ Westminster home to Palm Springs and back before dumping the body in a trash bin and setting it on fire, prosecutors said.
