* When Mark McGwire says publicly he wants to play for your ballclub, make it happen.
* When pitchers like Kevin Brown and Pedro Martinez are available, try to trade for them.
* When you’re in the middle of a pennant chase, with a deadline around the corner to trade, don’t sit on your hands.
* When you have a clubhouse leader like Cecil Fielder leading your team in RBIs, don’t release him.
