Chad Troxler
School: Simi Valley
Sport: Wrestling
Season at a glance: Troxler, who placed third in the state last season as a heavyweight, won a third consecutive Marmonte League title, going 7-0 in league dual meets. Troxler pinned Brian Smith of Thousand oaks in 3 minutes 17 seconds to win the league championship at Channel Islands High. Troxler will compete in the Southern Section Masters Meet on Saturday at Fountain Valley High.
Week at a glance: Troxler won a second consecutive Southern Section Division II championship by defeating Brett Schleger of Temecula Valley, 7-4, at Westlake High. Troxler was undefeated in five matches in the two-day meet, raising his record 45-6.

Cara Blumfield
School: El Camino Real
Year: Junior
Sport: Basketball
Season at a glance: In her third varsity season the first was spent at Calabasas on the varsity, Blumfield is averaging 23.1 points per game to lead the region’s City Section players in scoring. She has sparked West Valley League-champion El Camino Real to a 20-1 record, including wins victories in the Conquistadores’ first 19 games of the season. Blumfield also topss the Conquesadores not only in scoring but also in assists (5.1 per game) and steals (5.0), and she is the spiritual as well as statistical leader of the team.
Week at a glance: Blumfield made seven of 16 shots from the field and nine of 10 free throws en route to 25 points in eighth-seeded Banning in the first round of the City Section 4-A playoffs. She also had five assists and two steals against Banning.
