Nevada 81, UC Irvine 72--The Wolf Pack (16-11) built a 24-point second half lead, then had to lean on point guard Robin Kennedy to hold off UC Irvine.
Kennedy scored 11 of his 21 pints in the final two minutes after Irvine (9-18) had cut the lead to single digits.
Nevada’s Paul Culbertson was called for an offensive foul, then was hit with a technical foul with 3:31 left. Adam Stetson’s free throw cut the Wolf Pack lead to 63-55.
After Irvine’s Lamarr Parker was called for traveling, Kennedy sank a three-point basket to restore order.
