Mission Hills Alemany 62, La Puente 39--Kelli Kobayashi, a four-year starter who lost in two previous appearances in section finals, walked out of the Pyramid carrying the Division III-A championship plaque after scoring 17 points, dishing out seven assists and grabbing seven rebounds.

The title was the third for Alemany (24-6), which was making its sixth championship-game appearance in seven seasons and seventh overall. La Puente (24-2) was making its first appearance in a final.
