Delta to Count Laptops as ‘Bags’
Delta last week joined the small but growing list of airlines imposing new restrictions on carry-on baggage. And unlike some other airlines, Delta will apply the rules to all classes, not just coach.
Starting April 15, the airline plans to count laptop computers and bags of goods (such as duty-free purchases) as “bags” under its two-bag carry-on limit. Purses, food for on-board consumption and devices for disabled passengers (such as crutches) will not count as “bags.”
Late last year, Northwest began limiting coach passengers to one carry-on bag plus a purse, laptop computer or other small item. United has been testing similar restrictions for low-fare passengers on flights leaving Des Moines.
