Engesser to Join UCI Track Team

Christie Engesser, former Oregon distance runner, has been accepted to UC Irvine and probably will be declared eligible this week, Anteater track Coach Vince O’Boyle said Monday.

Engesser, who attended Ocean View High, was a finalist in the 1,500 at the Pac-10 championships last season. She ran unattached Saturday in the Cal State Fullerton Invitational, winning the 800 in 2 minutes 14.71 seconds.
