Poll Puts First Lady Atop Presidential Ballot

WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton for president?
Last month in Boston, a new Democratic women’s group distributed a straw ballot with the names of future female presidential candidates, Newsweek reported, and Clinton won the mock election as a write-in.
Newsweek said the first lady later responded, “God, no!” when asked whether she would consider running. But she reportedly was flattered.
The group, Why Not a Woman?, met to discuss a plan to get a woman to head the presidential ticket within a decade. It includes about 75 of the most powerful female donors and organizers in the Democratic Party.
