Huntway Attributes Loss to Winter Rains

Huntway Partners, L.P., an asphalt producer, reported a first-quarter loss because of a 34% drop in its sales due to heavy El Nino rainfall.
For the quarter that ended March 31, Huntway posted a net loss of $666,044, compared with a profit of $345,757 in the same period last year. Revenues in the latest quarter fell to $12.6 million, down from $19.1 million a year ago.
Huntway, which is headquartered in Newhall, operates California refineries in Wilmington and Benicia, and makes liquid asphalt for use in road construction and repairs.
