New School Standards Before Board
Plans for new standards in language arts and math will be the subject of a special meeting today of the Santa Ana Unified School District board.
The meeting will include a report on the district’s bilingual education programs. District officials also will receive updates on how schools are implementing new directions to spend more time teaching basic skills to elementary and middle school pupils.
The directions, called Project ATM--Above the Mean--were passed by the board in September to boost Santa Ana scores in standardized tests.
The board will meet at 5 p.m. in the district conference room, 1601 E. Chestnut Ave.
