Allen, Reiner to Host Anita O’Day Benefit

Anita O’Day, recovering from an 18-month illness, will receive a salute Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Jazz Bakery, 3233 Helms Ave., Culver City.
Steve Allen and Carl Reiner will host the event at which Kay Starr, the Paul Smith Trio, Annette Warren (who has been coaching O’Day for her comeback), Monica Lewis, Estelle Reiner (with Tom Garvin), Martha Lorin, ragtime pianist Ron Trotta, jazz mimic Marge McClure plus surprise guests will perform at a benefit to help O’Day pay medical expenses.
